Tarot & Meditations April 2025 Newsletter | Tarot, Spring Energy & Collective Renewal

Hello April!

As spring settles into Philadelphia, cherry blossoms bloom alongside charged conversations about community, justice, and what it means to belong. Across the city, the country, and the world, people are organizing, planting, protesting, gathering, and creating. There’s a collective sense that we’re being called to nurture something new—not only within ourselves, but in the structures and relationships that shape our daily lives.

This month’s tarot spread speaks directly to that energy. With the 4th House Astrological focus on home, roots, and care, we ask: What are we being called to nurture in 2025? And how do we share our inner fire with a world that deeply needs it?

This month's Tarot Spread:

Drawn as part of our 2025 year ahead reading, our April card is the Ace of Wands—a fiery, blooming branch symbolizing potential, creativity, and the power of new beginnings.

The collective message? This year, nurture what brings joy and light—not just for yourself, but for your community. Ask:

  • What resources can I share?
  • What passions am I ready to offer the world?
  • How can I discern what’s truly nourishing?

Two jumper cards—Judgment (Reversed) and Five of Cups—ask us to let go of criticism and grief in favor of perspective, gratitude, and generous discernment.

Synchronicities from the Circle:

  • A ballerina was seen in the shine of the card: joy, expression, and nurturing the self through beauty.
  • This message was heard: “This little light of mine, I’ve got to let it shine.”
  • Another reflection brought up the idea of spring’s culmination—what we've cultivated in ourselves is now ready to be offered outward.

In the U.S. and Beyond
Globally, spring festivals like Hanami in Japan and Songkran in Thailand remind us: Joy, reflection, and connection transcend borders. We’re not alone in our desire to share beauty and light.

April also brings Earth Day (April 22), asking us to nurture our shared home—both environmentally and communally. Consider joining a cleanup or planting project near you.

Your Invitation
This month, let your fire rise. Tend to your inner flame, and consider where your light might guide or warm others. Whether it’s your art, time, ideas, or healing—it matters.

Deck of the Month:
Ethereal Visions Illuminated Tarot by Matt Hughes—full of soft light, art nouveau elegance, and spiritual shine. A perfect mirror for April’s message.

It’s tempting to hold back—especially when being seen has meant being misunderstood. But we aren’t meant to live as spectators. My work exists to invite people back into relationship with life: through meditation, tarot, art, and writing experiences that hold space for connection. Each offering is a small gesture toward re-entry. When we begin to show up, others do too. And that’s how it happens: we co-create something better, together.

Hello March! If you’re near Philadelphia this week, something special is happening this Friday, March 13, 2026. A project I’m involved in called Amethyst Gate is hosting a Literary Performance with open mic. I’d love for some of you to be there to participate from either the audience or the stage. You can register for free from Eventbrite. Below I’m sharing another excerpt from the latest post on the blog. It’s from the same piece I mentioned in the previous newsletter, though this passage is...

Hello February! You will notice our art workshop is no longer listed in the offerings below. This month’s Second Sundays Asemic Art Tarot Workshop has already passed, and for now I’m choosing to pause this series. The last few sessions have been small, and while they were meaningful for me, I don’t currently have the time or energy to keep scheduling them without rethinking the format more carefully. Rather than continuing by default, I want to make space to consider what would make this...

Hello 2026! This month I decided to bring my art and tarot knowledge together to create an exercise you might find useful. I ended up writing quite a bit about my own tarot reading practice, specifically about the difference between projective tarot reading and intuitive tarot reading. You may be surprised at how I use both and why. The full post turned into a writing exercise you can try for yourself with any tarot or oracle card. After the excerpt from this blog post below, you will find my...
