Tarot & Meditations November 2025 Newsletter | Notes on starting something before you’re ready.

Hello November!

That new collaborative project I told you about last month kicked off on October 23, 2025. Details about the next Amethyst Gate coming up this month on November 21, 2025 can be found at amethystgate.com.

Our friend Elizabeth Kirwin did a write up on the first event that you can read at fairiesinamerica.com.

I chose to write about the process that brought Amethyst Gate into being.

Amethyst Gate is a new monthly literary series in Philadelphia that brings together poetry, music, visual art—and time will tell what else. Defining the series is very much a work in progress and when I say “monthly” I do so with an air of manifestation. The inaugural event, after all, was held just last month on October 23, 2025. The next is scheduled this month for November 21, 2025. Speaking just for myself, it was almost a surprise that it happened and that I managed to be there—despite the fact that I was involved at every step of its five years of planning. This month's tarot card:

Drawn from the Rider Waite Smith Tarot as part of our 2025 year ahead reading, our November card is the Chariot. The Chariot is about moving forward with single-pointed focus on a goal. What goal are you focused on right now? We worked with the Chariot in August as well, so it might be worth considering how your goals have or have not changed since then.

Your invitation:

Due to schedule conflicts, there will be no Second Thursday Tarot Reading Practice this month. You are welcome to explore this month's tarot spread on your own and report back to me. In August we used the energy of the Chariot to explore the space between the spiritual and mundane. This month our Chariot spread investigates the feeling of limerence. Have you ever noticed that the Rider Waite Smith Chariot Card isn't going anywhere despite it's clear focus on what lies ahead?

This month's Limerence Tarot Spread asks:

  1. Where does your heart surge with devotion or possibility?
  2. Where does your body say no, not yet, or not this way?

This month's art workshop:

Join us on Zoom for Second Sundays Asemic Art Tarot Workshop from 3pm to 5pm ET for some abstract art-making inspired by tarot. No experience necessary. You need only a tarot deck and art materials of your choice to participate.

This month's writing workshop:

Join us on Zoom for Last Sundays Generative Tarot Writing Workshop from 3pm to 5pm ET to write from the tarot together. No tarot or writing experience is necessary. You need only a tarot deck and something to write with to participate.

Meditations:

If you didn't know, I've returned to school full time and also have a full time day job. So meditation offerings are currently on hold. You can continue to explore past live offerings at the Tarot & Meditations YouTube page.

tarot & meditations

It’s tempting to hold back—especially when being seen has meant being misunderstood. But we aren’t meant to live as spectators. My work exists to invite people back into relationship with life: through meditation, tarot, art, and writing experiences that hold space for connection. Each offering is a small gesture toward re-entry. When we begin to show up, others do too. And that’s how it happens: we co-create something better, together.

Hello March! If you’re near Philadelphia this week, something special is happening this Friday, March 13, 2026. A project I’m involved in called Amethyst Gate is hosting a Literary Performance with open mic. I’d love for some of you to be there to participate from either the audience or the stage. You can register for free from Eventbrite. Below I’m sharing another excerpt from the latest post on the blog. It’s from the same piece I mentioned in the previous newsletter, though this passage is...

Hello February! You will notice our art workshop is no longer listed in the offerings below. This month’s Second Sundays Asemic Art Tarot Workshop has already passed, and for now I’m choosing to pause this series. The last few sessions have been small, and while they were meaningful for me, I don’t currently have the time or energy to keep scheduling them without rethinking the format more carefully. Rather than continuing by default, I want to make space to consider what would make this...

Hello 2026! This month I decided to bring my art and tarot knowledge together to create an exercise you might find useful. I ended up writing quite a bit about my own tarot reading practice, specifically about the difference between projective tarot reading and intuitive tarot reading. You may be surprised at how I use both and why. The full post turned into a writing exercise you can try for yourself with any tarot or oracle card. After the excerpt from this blog post below, you will find my...
